Brockmann/Brookmann/ Brogmann/ Brokmann etc.
The surename Brockmann came to Holsteinaround 12th century. Settlers from Westphalia, Lower Saxon brought the name to Holstein area. Specially a large group came to the Probstei, their you find several Brockmann families.
Probably only in the area of Pinneberg/ Elmshorn a Brockmann surename was established by themselves (might be the only place in Holstein).
Later on their also several Brockmann’s from Mecklenburg (specially Luebeck area) setteled in Holstein. In someway it’s easy to figure them out, because you have only to look on the given names. That might be a good hint for the originall roots.
